Wedding cakes can range from $3–$15 per serving . Tiered cakes are more expensive than sheet cake styled cakes.

How should we cut our wedding cake?

Traditionally, you’d do a ceremonial cutting first, often holding hands on the knife. The caterer then takes the cake away and cuts it into slices to distribute to guests. If you’re slicing it up yourselves, take apart the tiers and cut them into small rectangles. Remember to wrap and freeze the top layer for your anniversary!

How should we transport our wedding cake?

Very carefully! Ideally, your cake will be delivered by your bakery, which should have plenty of experience transporting cakes. You can also purchase special boxes made to protect the tiers.

When should we order our wedding cake?

Set up tastings (the fun part!) around 7 months out. Once you’ve decided, place your order.

We did a 2 tier marble cake which was amazing, the groom's cake was a Georgia themed Football which was 1 part carrot cake and 1 part red velvet which left us speechless, and the absolute show stopper was the banana pudding cupcakes! Oh my gravy these were the talk of the night! All the cakes were so moist and rich but also decadent and tasted like happiness lol! “I sent Crystal this photo and I was a bit nervous at first about how they'd be able to make this happen but honestly I am so happy with how this came out it really was absolutely beautiful. I wasn't able to meet her in person with everything going on but she dropped it off for us on time and my coordinator was great in getting everything set up and presented. A few blueberries fell off during handling but considering how detailed and intricate the cake was I am so beyond thrilled at how this came out. I really don't often ask for perfection but with how this came out it's really right up there being perfect. If I find any better photos I will absolutely update this post with them. The venue itself was an absolute disaster but it was great having all those excessive blueberries everywhere it really made a mess and watching them clean it all up later was just fantastic. I'm not even sure if it's on their regular menu but I asked them to do a lemon cake with a blueberry compote inside (I have no idea what that means but my now wife had me asking for that) and the flavors and taste of the cake were just beyond extraordinary. They also made and brought a smaller mint chocolate cake to accommodate some allergies we had in the family and one bite my breath was smelling good all night! Thank you so much for everything I will definitely have you guys doing more in the future!”

Frosted Swirl is a licensed and certified residential kitchen located in Westfield, Massachusetts. I am a baker at heart who loves all sweets! I specialize in gourmet cupcakes but also offer other treats. Using the highest quality ingredients, I give classic flavors a modern twist to produce truly delicious cupcakes and baked goods that are perfect for your special occasion. All cupcakes, frosting and baked goods are made from scratch and baked fresh to order. Contactless porch pickup or delivery & setup is available. Frosted Swirl is a perfect addition for your party, wedding, bridal or baby shower, graduation or any special occasion!

“We cannot recommend Frosted Swirl enough! We used Frosted Swirl for our wedding for a small cutting cake, cupcakes, dessert bars and mini cheesecakes. They were such a hit! Our guests loved them and even took some to go! Valerie made the whole process easy and was friendly and responded quickly to my emails. She offers a sampling of the mini cupcakes for purchase in order to trial the flavors, which I thought was such a great idea (and they were delicious)! We will absolutely be using Frosted Swirl again for any future events!”

Caketini Bar. Co by Jayna & Joey offers a unique, fun, one of a kind cake experience for you and your guests. You choose 4 cake flavors, fillings, frostings, and toppings. We create a custom menu to place on the cake bar that we bring to your event. Each guest then comes up and tells us their favorite combination, we make it and serve it to them in a cute martini glass and off they go to enjoy their very own Caketini Creation. However we do offer a 2 tier cake for the traditional cutting and photos in addition to our Caketini Bar. Let your guests choose the cake they love! Not what's chosen for them!

We had two full Caketini Bars at our wedding, with eight options in each category—flavors, fillings, frostings, and toppings. Guests were raving all night about how fun it was to build their own custom cake creations in adorable martini glasses. It added such a joyful, personalized touch to the celebration. I also added a mini heart-shaped cake to our order, and it was just as delicious as it was adorable. It looked so cute and felt like the perfect little indulgence just for me. Jayna and Joey were amazing to work with—warm, professional, and so responsive throughout the planning process. They made everything feel effortless and exciting. “We ordered our wedding cake from Cakes by Stephanie and worked directly with Tommy, and I truly could not be happier with the entire experience. The cake was a very important part of the wedding for me (I love cake!), so I was really hoping for something delicious and memorable—and they absolutely delivered. We scheduled a wedding cake tasting, and Tommy was wonderful to work with. He explained everything clearly, was incredibly helpful, and made the whole process fun. They had a complimentary tasting prepared for us with six cake flavors and fillings, and every single sample was amazing. They have so many combinations to choose from, and they even offered to let us come back later to try additional flavors if we wanted. That level of kindness, communication, and flexibility meant a lot. On the wedding day, their team coordinated with my florist for adding fresh flowers to the cake, and it turned out incredible—exactly what I imagined. We also rented a cake stand from them for a very reasonable price, which made things even easier. Their policies were straightforward, the staff was friendly, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. Since the wedding, multiple guests have told me (even months later!) how delicious our cake was. We chose chocolate with hoho cream and white cake with fresh strawberry filling, and both were a huge hit. We also get a fresh cake for our one-year anniversary, which I’m already looking forward to!
