Makeup by Pratima has been operating since 2016 when I decided to follow my passion for cosmetics and transform it into a business. Since then, I’ve been helping people be their most beautiful selves, enhancing our beauty from within. I currently work as a professional freelance makeup artist for women of all backgrounds for their special occasions and life milestones. While I’m based in Rockland, I’m available for hire to work anywhere I am needed!

Pratima was the best! I feel so blessed to have found her for my hair and makeup. I booked her for my trial run for my bridal shower, and I received so many compliments — even from my toughest critics (my family, lol). She was patient and kind throughout the entire process, which meant a lot to me. I’ve always been a bit uncomfortable with heavy makeup, but I really wanted to feel special on my wedding day without feeling unlike myself. Pratima completely understood that and delivered exactly what I wanted and envisioned for both my hair and makeup. The more details I shared, the better she understood my vision overall. She also brings such a calming, grounding presence — which was a true blessing on my wedding day morning! Another huge plus is that she travels. She came to my home for the trial run, which took off so much pressure, and then traveled upstate for the wedding day, arriving right on time (early, actually!). She did my hair and makeup along with services for four additional members of my bridal party, and everyone looked absolutely beautiful. If you’re looking for someone who is talented, professional, and truly cares about making you feel your best — Pratima is the one!

Pratima and her team at Makeup by Pratima were an absolute joy to work with for our Tamil Brahmin wedding. From the very first consultation, Pratima was friendly, clear, and extremely organized in her communication. She took the time to understand the unique hair and skin needs of our diverse bridal party, which included both Indian and non-Indian members. Pratima's stunning artistry was on full display, as she effortlessly applied makeup that highlighted the natural beauty of each person, regardless of their skin tone or hair type. We were all amazed at how gorgeous my mother-in-law and bridesmaids looked, and I've never felt more beautiful in my life. Not only does Pratima do an amazing job, but she is extremely pleasant to be around and very patient. She wants what is best for her clients. Her team was also very accommodating and kind. I couldn’t imagine working with any other vendor for my wedding day! My bridesmaids and I all looked PERFECT.
