Ivy & Quartz Photography

Hi! I'm Nina and I run Ivy & Quartz photography! I shot my first wedding in 2013, but my journey with photography began long before that. When I was about 10 years old, my dad gave me a camera and I quickly became obsessed. My intrigue continued to grow over the years and I went on to earn my BA in Studio Art , Photography, from the University of Virginia. After graduating I worked as a portrait photographer and decided to pursue and earn my MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Having a background in Fine Art has informed the way I photograph everything. I understand and value the importance of sensing the emotions being held around me and what it means to capture those moments. Having knowledge on the history of photography has allowed me to cultivate a deep understanding for what makes an image truly ageless. My photography style walks the line between fine art and documentary. My goal is to freeze not only moments, but feelings in time - to create images that people can look back on decades later and FEEL the love, joy, and every emotion in between.
