From the moment we begin planning together, my process centers on trust and ease. I believe that beautiful imagery comes not from forced posing or rigid schedules, but from relaxed presence and genuine interaction — the fleeting glances, the laughter between moments, and the quiet exchanges that happen when people feel truly comfortable in front of the camera. Couples often describe my presence as calming, intuitive, and supportive, and I love helping even those with little photography experience feel natural and confident.

The details matter. There is a deep sense of peace that comes from being immersed in nature, and it’s undeniable. I was fortunate to grow up in Yosemite, where I learned to appreciate both nature’s tranquility and the awe-inspiring power of its harsher transformations. My connection comes through careful observation—the grain of sand, the stem of a leaf, the iridescent sheen on a raven’s feathers, or the way individual drops of water collectively cascade down a mountain. I’ve documented these moments since the age of five. Thank goodness for digital images, or my house would be overflowing.

The Elopement Package is designed for couples who want an intimate, intentional way to be married — free from timelines, expectations, and distraction — while still sharing the experience with a small, meaningful group. This package is for elopements with a group size of 10 guests or less. Whether you’re exchanging vows quietly in Yosemite or along the south side of the park, this experience is centered on connection, stillness, and presence.

The Adventure Elopement Package is created for couples who want a private, immersive experience inside Yosemite — just the two of you and me, exploring far beyond the Valley and into the quieter, wilder sides of the park. This is not a traditional portrait session. It is a full-day adventure built around movement, light, and discovery. We spend the day traveling deeper into Yosemite, reaching places that require time, intention, and often a hike to access.

    Kate Michelle Photography is one of the best wedding photographers I've worked with in my 20 years of doing weddings. Their communication is great - they're easy to bounce ideas off of and really understand how to put couples at ease during the photo process. The quality of their work is amazing, and couples are always over the top happy with the final photos. Kate is especially skilled at destination weddings or events in unpredictable locations like Yosemite, where her calm demeanor and ability to keep the timeline moving make a huge difference along with dealing with the unpredictable!

    It is difficult to put into words how wonderfully Kate captured our wedding. Her professionalism and skill allowed her to take beautiful photos, but her presence and perceptivity guided her camera toward the most important, intimate scenes of the day. We were fortunate enough to have Kate with us for the full wedding weekend, as she got to know our inner circle of closest family and friends. She observed as hundreds of connections were made, countless laughs were shared, and documented the magic in those moments between our guests. Kate guided us through our camera-shyness and instructed us with her expertise on how to pose for photos. She effortlessly wrangled and directed our bridal party and families for a seamless, efficient photo session, somehow keeping us all on schedule. Our wedding was lighthearted and festive at times, as well as deeply sentimental and emotional at other times, and Kate's photos encapsulated all of it.
