Hello I'm Michaella I am the face behind Smile As You Mae Photography. I specialize in weddings, newborn, and family photography. I have 7+ years of experience in the industry. I mainly serve the SC+ NC region. I was born and raised in Lancaster, SC. I earned my BSN degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate. Photography was a hobby for me during nursing school. Never did I think it would take me the places I have gone. Fast forward seven years later and I have photographed over 100 weddings, 1000+ sessions, and own a photography studio right inside my hometown.

Smile as You Mae was phenomenal to work with! From my first inquiry to the wedding day, Michaella and Megan were a joy and instantly made me feel comfortable. I had a lot of questions and they took the time to talk through everything with me ahead of time. We stuck to the schedule we created together and were able to get everything my husband and I wanted from the shot list, and took pictures that would fit everyones tastes (details, close-up shots, formal, fun long exposure during the reception, everything you could ask for)! They were professional and got amazing photos, but many guests stated that they didn’t even know they were there throughout the reception, which is how well they were able to blend in with the group while still catching all of our moments. I can not recommend Smile as You Mae enough! I have consistently had people state that these photos look like they belong in a magazine, so if thats the quality you want (which you know you do), don’t hesitate to book them!

Looking for a photographer is very stressful. This was me and my husband’s first time getting any type of professional photos done as a couple. Going through Michella photos is exactly what I was looking for! After speaking with her she was very understanding and helpful with finding a place for our engagement photos. She went above and beyond at one point of our wedding it started to rain and she asked if we wanted to take a picture. I agreed not knowing that the picture was going to come out amazing!! Never could I have thought it would’ve came out the way it did and I am so grateful!
