You are a number to them
They sent out a mass email only a few business days before changing all of the seating in the building, and less than 30 days before our wedding. We planned a wedding around ivory because that was the color of the chairs, including linens, hundreds of pillar candles, and florals. They “upgraded” them to tacky, clear plastic chairs with no padding that take away from the character of the reception hall for which we booked the venue. When we communicated frustration in such a large last second change, with insufficient time to find another solution as the contract specifically forbids bringing in external seating , the district event coordinator quoted the contract at us and their “right to change the facilities as they see fit” and stated they “looked forward to offering beautiful service” or similar corporate jargon, but no effort at all to suggest a resolution. Based on this logic, the venue can change their color scheme, flooring, cover the windows, remove the pews in the chapel etc, with no sufficient advisement to those already under contract that have a reasonable expectation that they signed said contract based on interest of a particular venue aesthetic. you signed said contract with certain expectations, and they truly do not care if you are satisfied because they already have your money. They will do what they want. You are a number to them. As my wedding hasn’t yet occurred I’m happy to update this review should the matter of seating be resolved.
Wonderful Experience with AGNH!
We’ve really enjoyed working with Sydney so far in our wedding planning process! She’s been super helpful, always quick to respond to our questions, and keeps us in the loop with what to expect for each meeting. Before every meeting, she sends helpful info so we feel prepared, and afterwards, she follows up with next steps and important reminders. We’re so thankful for her guidance and can’t wait to see everything come together on our big day!

The team at Ashton Gardens North Houston by Walters Wedding Estates was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Their communication was professional, helpful, and kind throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, with a clean and elegant design that provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding day. They went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests, including setting up a queso fountain that I really wanted, making our special day even more memorable. Ashton Gardens truly is an incredible venue, and I would not have wanted to celebrate our marriage anywhere else.

My husband and I used AGNH as our ceremony and reception venue and it was perfect. The staff were all so kind and accommodating to our requests, and Sydney (our venue-assigned planner) was a breath of fresh air whenever I was feeling overwhelmed. The food was also SO delicious, including the cake, which we had made in-house. Our wedding vision became a reality at Ashton Gardens North Houston!
