About this venue

Situated on a picturesque 17.5 acre site overlooking Lake Michigan, Kemper Center is a vibrant cultural and historical complex. Kemper offers a chapel for indoor ceremonies and a gazebo and lakefront options for outdoors. There are five diverse environments for your wedding reception, with both indoor and outdoor availabilities. Indoor capacity is 150 guests, and outdoor is 200 guests.

A perfect blend of art and elegance.

Built in 1875 this Ruskinian Gothic revival style chapel offers beautiful stained-glass windows and outstanding woodwork detailing. Dressing rooms for the Bride and Groom and a wedding circle walkway are added features. Both a piano and organ are available.

Ambrose Hall offers a Victorian atmosphere, hardwood floors, and bay windows overlooking the breathtaking Lake Michigan. This venue has three rooms total for bar service, food/dancing, and guest seating.

The Kemper Center was an absolutely wonderful wedding venue for our special day. From the very beginning, their communication was timely, informative and helped us solve any issues that came up. Katsina, the venue coordinator, was a delight to work with and seamlessly coordinated with all of our vendors to ensure everything ran smoothly. The venue itself is elegant and very affordable, providing a one-of-a-kind upscale and unique experience that our guests raved about. We loved everything about the Kemper Center and would highly recommend it as a can't-miss wedding venue option.

We had our son's wedding reception at Kemper Center and could not have been more pleased. Katrina was great to work with - she was friendly, informative and professional throughout the planning process. The venue provided plenty of room for our guests, with access to a full kitchen, and was very affordable. Everything ran smoothly on the day of the event, and we are really happy we chose Kemper Center for our special occasion.

The deposit is refundable if cancellation occurs in writing within 30 days of the signed contract. After 30 days, the deposit becomes non-refundable.

Wedding ceremonies are a 3 hour block. We rent reception venues in either 5 hour blocks or all day which is 11 hours.
