Located right on Cape May's Beach Avenue, this beachfront Georgian Revival mansion provides the perfect combination of excellent accommodations, Zagat-recommended fine dining, and impeccable service. With the ocean as your endless backdrop, our dedicated onsite wedding coordinator and staff specialize in creating a celebration that is as unique and special as you are, for intimate affairs of 25 guests or larger parties up to 100.

The Peter Shields Inn offers multiple charming and elegant spaces for your ceremony and reception: • Ceremony Sites: Choose a magnificent ceremony right on the beach across the street, on the picturesque front steps of the Inn with the iconic mansion as your backdrop, or for an indoor option, utilize the traditional grand staircase. • Reception Spaces: Your wedding package includes the exclusive reservation of all six of the restaurant's dining spaces. These rooms feature an elegant, traditional aesthetic with architectural details like coffered ceilings, fireplaces, large windows that fill the rooms with natural light, and classic furnishings. The versatile rooms allow for a comfortable flow for your guests to enjoy butlered hors d'oeuvres, a plated full-course dinner, and delicious desserts. • Outdoor Patio: For mingling, the outdoor patio area provides a charming space with comfortable seating and black-and-white striped umbrellas, surrounded by lush florals.

    We were searching for the perfect venue to host an intimate and special wedding celebration dinner in Cape May -one of our favorite beach towns - and Peter Shields Inn exceeded every expectation. Beautifully located just across the street from the beach in Cape May, NJ, the setting alone is stunning and full of charm. They graciously accommodated our group of 30 guests in their Brides Room for a private dinner, and despite the smaller wedding size, it felt every bit as meaningful, elegant, and memorable as a larger wedding celebration. We were able to bring in our own wedding cake and have on-site photography, which made the evening feel even more personal and special. Our guests also enjoyed relaxing on the porch with cocktails while my husband and I took photos on the beach. It was such a lovely and seamless experience. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, but the event coordinator, Amy, truly went above and beyond. She was absolutely spectacular; always prompt, thorough, and thoughtful in her communication. She connected us with outstanding local vendors: Khalil for piano, Tim Joyce for photography, Cape Winds Florist for centerpieces, and Bake Works for our cake. Every single vendor she recommended was exceptional and easy to work with.  Amy also ensured that all dietary restrictions were handled with care and kindness, and she went out of her way to help set everything up in advance so that we could simply arrive, relax, and fully enjoy our time with our loved ones. Her patience, professionalism, and genuine care made the entire process stress-free and truly enjoyable. This was truly a 10/10 experience for us. We highly recommend Peter Shields Inn to anyone looking for a beautiful, intimate, and unforgettable setting to celebrate a marriage or special occasion. It was everything we hoped for and more.

    We cannot say enough good things about Peter Shields Inn and the amazing staff there.   We held a micro wedding (just 14 guests) and the team made us feel as special as a 300 person wedding.  When we sat down with Amy, we knew immediately we were going to book with PSI.  Amy showed us a book with all the options PSI offered, from photos to vendors, and we appreciated the amount of time she dedicated to helping us design our big day.  On the day of the wedding, PSI staff were simply outstanding and I cannot thank them enough!

    Every time I think of our wedding day, I’m in awe of how much Peter Shields Inn and their wedding coordinator (Amy) did to make our day easy and wonderful. This is the perfect venue if you have 20 to 30 guests. I handed them a box of my decorations and they took care of setting our room up. The food was AMAZING! Best wedding food I’ve ever had hands down. Amy even walked over to beach with me a cued me up for an entrance. Cocktails and hors doeurves were on their porch area was a perfect place for our guitarist to serenade guests as we snuck a few pictures in. Sm so happy we chose this venue!
