10/10 Venue Experience
We got married at the Elm City Club in early November and only have amazing things to say about the experience! Every aspect of the wedding planning execution went super smoothly working with Sandra and her team, and our guests all loved the beauty of the venue, food, and atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend for anyone planning a small to medium sized wedding in Connecticut! Be sure to book way in advance though since it fills up very fast. Pros: -Venue is gorgeous and has a tremendous amount of personality. In our opinion this is the best place to have a wedding in Downtown New Haven, way better than doing a wedding in a hotel. It even has the option of coming pre-decorated if you'd like. -Sandra and her team are extremely professional responsive. Sandra has great attention to detail and helped us plan every bit of the wedding day which helped to put our minds at ease. The club staff all did an incredible job the day of and were very professional as well. -Food was outstanding. Chicken marsala and swordfish were cooked to perfection and the dessert table was a smash hit! (One of our guests gasped when she heard there was a dessert room) -Pricing is very reasonable, especially for Connecticut! There is a lot of flexibility with pricing tiers for food drink.

We got married at the Elm City Club in June, and the entire experience was magical! Sandra was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. I had tons of questions, and she made everything so easy. The venue itself was beautiful and didn’t require much decoration. It had the perfect vibe and truly captured everything I envisioned for my wedding.
The Perfect Venue
Every New Haven area couple should consider using the Elm City Club to host their wedding and/or wedding reception. It's the perfect intimate venue with so much historical character compared to the more soulless country club aesthetics we saw in other nearby venues (and somehow the Elm City Club is more budget-friendly!). We were able to stay the night on site as were a few of our family members. Our guests told us the food was probably the best wedding food they've ever eaten. My parents are still marveling at how they were able to cook so many filet mignons perfectly. They let us have a specialty cocktail (Pimm's!), which the bartender did an incredible job with. My husband and I also really appreciated that they offered the option of an open bar but to pay for drinks by consumption—we saved a lot of money that way as our family and friend groups are not heavy drinkers. All of that said, best thing about the Elm City was the staff. Our coordinator, Sandra, was incredible every step of the way. The waitstaff was excellent on the day. I cannot recommend this team enough.
wonderful wedding venue
The Elm City Club was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. From the moment we first contacted Sandra and her team, their communication was clear, kind, and incredibly helpful. The space itself is charming, airy, and elegantly decorated - it provided the perfect light and gracious atmosphere for our celebration. The food was absolutely delicious, and the attentive service ensured the whole event ran smoothly. We especially appreciated that they allowed us to bring our little dog to the venue, and that the groom's getting ready room was right next door to the bride's, which made it easy for our families to see us as we prepared for the ceremony. Sandra and her staff managed the whole thing beautifully. We loved holding our reception at the Elm City Club and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a wonderful wedding venue.
