Hi friends! My name is Jonah Lorsung and I'm a filmmaker, writer, and photographer born in the Midwest. Most of my free time is spent enjoying concerts, cruising the coast in my Japanese van, or getting lost in a new hobby (right now that's "de-Googling" my life). I'm currently based in Portland, OR and available for travel anywhere my camera may take me, continuing my pursuit of stories that pique my interest. Mostly love, good light, and the small moments that make life worth living.

A fly on the wall, documentary first approach where the final film feels like the perspective of a close loved one or family friend. I do my best to be creative while also not falling for overused tropes or styles (though I'm not opposed to fun ideas or experimenting and believe heavily in the process of collaboration). I want your wedding film to be a quality memory for you and your family to enjoy for generations and believe heavily in the preservation of special memories.

    We could not be happier with our wedding videographer, Jonah Lorsung. His style is absolutely incredible — artistic, cinematic, and documentary-like in a way that feels so natural and real. His work was the only wedding videography we truly fell in love with, and he completely delivered. We were lucky to meet Jonah in Seattle before our wedding just to hang out and get to know him, and right away we could tell how calm, fun, and easygoing he is. On the day itself, he was amazing — so kind and professional, yet somehow managed to capture everything while feeling invisible. Watching our video back, it’s hard to believe how perfectly he told our story. Jonah absolutely killed it. We can’t recommend him enough to anyone looking for a videographer with a truly artistic eye and the best energy to have around on your wedding day.

    My husband and I wanted a wedding video that would feel timeless and personal to us. Jonah didn’t just deliver a wedding video, he created a cinematic masterpiece that’s become our favorite movie (and just so happens to be about our wedding day). He sees the details most people don’t catch. He listens and observes and captures the truest essence of what’s happening. 7 years later, and we still know people who watch our video who weren’t even at our wedding because they love it so much! Needless to say, picking Jonah to capture our wedding was one of the best choices we made for our big day. I can’t recommend him enough!

    I first saw Jonah’s work on instagram (he’s worked with my photographer and they make an amazing team!) and decided that if I did have a videographer, Jonah would be it. Jonah has an amazing eye for understated moments, and edits those moments together into a cinematic and emotionally charged film. Jonah was easy to communicate with, easy to plan with, and was a joy to have around on the day of our wedding. In addition to our long film and social media cut, Jonah also was able to give us our raw footage (we requested this, definitely ask if you want it but don’t expect it from a vendor!), which really highlighted to me how involved Jonah was throughout the day. Jonah’s work is the perfect combination of a fly on the wall and a friend on the dance floor. But my favorite part about Jonah’s work is that every film he makes is different and unique to that wedding. There is no stock image or typical layout, they’re all an individual reflection of that day. I could not recommend Jonah enough as a videographer. I’m so glad to have worked with him for our wedding, and to have supported a wonderful and talented person. The photos I’ve included are screenshots from our wedding film and may not reflect the quality of image, but do reflect the artistic quality of Jonah’s films!

    We booked Jonah as a videographer for our wedding! I’ve seen his previous work and there was no doubt he was going to be the perfect person to capture our day. And we were right! He exceeded our expectations and created the most beautiful and all encompassing video that will be forever cherished. He was extremely easy to work with and was enjoyable to be around! He was even in town the day before and took some pictures at our rehearsal dinner which was just the cherry on top of his incredible talent and services! If you book with Jonah you cannot go wrong!
