I've seen Grant play at various venues and can't recommend him highly enough! He's incredibly professional and thorough, tailoring his set and performance to the tone of the event and blending in seamlessly. He has a beautiful singing voice and creates a really impressive one man band effect using his looping setup to layer in all parts of the song live in front of you. It's pretty incredible to see how he builds the song real-time without any backing tracks or pre-recorded stuff. I would feel confident hiring him for anything from a small cocktail party to a full wedding reception. Grant is the best!

Morf | Soloist One-Man Band, Guitar and Vocals

5.0

  • Solo performer
  • Serves New York, NY

Hi, I’m John Challis. Aka 'Morf'. Originally from London, my musical journey began in 2011 as 'Morf,' performing in the streets of Europe and falling in love with connecting through music. Since then, I’ve performed worldwide at luxury venues, corporate events, weddings of all sizes and types, and on shows like Good Morning America, ESPN, and Disney. As the founder of Morf Music, I’ve built a reputation for creating personalised, heartfelt performances. With over a decade of global experience, I bring a richness that resonates across all cultures and traditions, ensuring every moment feels personal and meaningful.

We couldn't have asked for a better musician for our wedding. From the moment we contacted John, he completely destroyed our anxiety about the music area of our wedding reception; hopping on a call that week and talking to us about our dream vision and what our favourite types of music are. He plays that guitar like nothing we've ever seen before, and 10 days later our guests are still talking about him! My friend Dan even booked him for his wedding lol He did an incredible cover of 'Perfect' by Ed Sheehan that he wrote specifically for us; with some unique instrumental tappy stuff I didn't even know one guitarist could do. It made our first dance so much more special than having a backing track like we originally planned. If you want awesome music, from a friendly man who's clearly been doing this a long time, he's your guy! We're so glad we got him involved.

LIAT (singer/songwriter)

5.0

  • Solo performer
  • Starts at $1,200
  • Serves New York, NY

With her earthy acoustics, dark melodies, and rich vocals, singer-songwriter Liat has been captivating live audiences for over fifteen years. After years of performing in the pulsing cities of Philadelphia and New York, Liat moved to Colorado, where she drew inspiration from the folk music of the mountains. Her music evokes her itinerant life and Israeli-American heritage— 90s’ pop-rock meets 60s’ folk with glints of Middle Eastern desert soundscapes. She spins guitar acoustics with her powerhouse vocals for lyrical “dark folk” sounds that linger long after a performance.

For as long as I’ve known Liat I’ve always been captivated by her voice. She has a presence that is magnetic. Anyone who’s ever heard her sing has felt drawn to her performance and longs to be a part of the experience. When Liat played our first dance at our wedding it was hard not to cry. She learned our song while truly making it her own. Even though it was Radiohead and kind of emo it was special to us. She knew what that meant and delivered not only a song, but a moment we will never forget. I would recommend her to be the voice of any event. Her live music is now forever a cherished memory everyone should get to have and to hold.

James Labrosse

5.0

  • Solo performer
  • Starts at $700
  • Serves New York, NY

James Labrosse is a talented musician who delivers enthusiastic and memorable performances from his headquarters in Brooklyn, NY... I have had the opportunity of providing live guitar music to weddings now for 10+ years now. It is a privilege to me to make beautiful music on such a special and sacred day. I'm an NYC local musician. I've studied extensive Spanish (Flamenco) guitar in Spain at a young age and also have a degree from Berklee College of Music. I am available to perform during your ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception, engagement party, rehearsal dinner. I can bring microphones for the vows and speeches.

I highly recommend James as a guitar player for your wedding. James had excellent communication from our first email. He shared what to expect on the day of our wedding and was very accommodating, answering our questions. He showed up on time and was very professional the entire time and was so friendly and happy. He played songs as our guests walked in, and then played a few processional songs that we selected from a nice list he provided. He took cues very well from my day of coordinator, and played the exact songs when we needed them to be played. During cocktail hour, he played songs from his repertoire that matched the mood very well. He played a gentle mix of classical, flamenco, jazz songs (maybe more genres!) As a solo musician, he doesn't take up a lot of real estate but he made a huge impact. We had multiple guests throughout the evening tell us how wonderful James was, how much they enjoyed his music. My husband appreciated that James is able to play his music on his own - he didn't use a background track to play on top of. James is also very gracious and kind. It's obvious that he takes pride in his work. I would not hesitate to hire him again for any future events.
