I friend of mine referred me to Desiree Penaloza for my bridal make up. She had shown me photos of her work and I was impressed so I called her. Desiree met with me a few months prior to my summer wedding for a trial to see how I wanted to look for the big day. I provided her pictures of the look I was going for and she nailed it. I had never felt more beautiful! She was able to highlight my natural beauty without making me feel like I had too much on my face. I got home from the trial and my fiancé noticed right away how pretty I looked. It was such a relief during that crazy time that I had found her! YAAAAAY! Not only did she use quality products, she airbrushed my foundation on which was SO cool. My complexion looked flawless. That first day left it all on for almost 8 hours just to test the longevity- and it passed the test! I really only needed to touch up my lips! On the day of my wedding Desiree was a calm oasis in the storm of craziness. She had great music to put myself and my bridesmaids in the mood to celebrate. She was super professional and patient and I had the utmost confidence in her work. My overall experience with Desiree is 5 stars. I highly recommend you book her for whatever your occasion may be. Helen was super great as our Wedding Event Planner. She was was very involved in every step of the process making sure we got exactly what we wanted to the finest detail and making sure that we were on track. And even we we had no idea where to begin, Helen has so much work experience that she is able to curate ideas for us. I believe she goes above and beyond for her clients. She was very accessible and replies swiftly to emails, calls, texts. We had numerous scheduled phone calls where we discuss our progress in hitting our goals, keeping us accountable and making sure we were on track with everything. She answers all of our questions and concerns to the best of her ability, and when she is unsure she will go out her way to find out those answers for you. She always exudes positive and supportive energy which makes it a great pleasure to work with her. During wedding day, you can tell she is working tirelessly for you. Things do go wrong during wedding day (pray it doesn’t happen to you!), but she is there to mitigate the effects or completely solve issues if she can. She was there to make sure everything ran smoothly according to plan. Our wedding day was a huge success and we owe it largely due to Helen! I cannot recommend her enough!

We are so glad we used Second Song for our wedding! The whole process was super easy and whenever we had a question or wanted to update something (like add more uplights, which was a great addition btw) we always got a prompt and helpful reply. And our DJ Rob Goodmonson! We cannot thank him enough for the amazing work he did at our wedding! We loved his energy and all of his questions that he had for us during our phone call consultation. I in particular am very grateful that he was so willing to help me with a special song request which required mixing bits from two songs together for my Father-Daughter dance. He was more than up for the challenge and was so helpful with it! When it came to the actual wedding, he was so kind when introducing himself on our wedding day and did a beautiful job MCing. We wanted more minimal MC work and he nailed it perfectly! He was also super flexible with last minute announcement requests that we had. For example, we realized no one was noticing the anniversary cards we put out for signing at the dinner tables, so we asked him to make a little announcement about it and he did great doing that on the spot! Finally, the music all night was absolutely fantastic. He really listened to what we wanted and he delivered! The music felt very much like “us” and we had so much fun dancing all night long. Everyone kept talking about how great he was and several people said it was the best wedding music they have ever heard. If we ever need a DJ again, without a doubt, we will be hiring DJ Rob!

We’ve been lucky to know and work with Randall for a few years. When we finally decided to make things “official” we knew we wanted someone that does great work, that we trust, and would make us feel comfortable. We wanted our day to feel like a relaxed family event and Randall helped with that and so much more. He suggested possible locations that would meet our dream event and times to maximize the best lighting for the area. Once we settled on the location and date, he maintained excellent communication in preparation to the event to properly flesh out the day’s timetable, day of logistics, and post. On the day of our wedding he expertly directed us and our families, using the natural lighting to capture the perfect shots. We would have been lost without him, especially since no one knew how to assist with bustling my dress. During our dinner reception he seamlessly directed restaurant staff to assist in transitioning between meals/dessert/toast for more amazing shots. I’m not even sure where to begin to describe how amazing Events by McKenna is at what they do!! McKenna is the most kind, helpful, and enthusiastic person to assist you during such an important time in your life. She made sure everything went perfectly on our wedding day and every day leading up to it! When we first started our wedding planning journey, we only knew where we wanted to have it, and due to the venue location not regularly being used for weddings, we needed to outsource vendors for everything. That's where McKenna came in and helped us out by hand-picking every vendor that she knew would provide the exact things we were looking for. From catering, florals, furniture rentals, DJ, and all the little details, she knew who would be perfect for the job and she was right about every single one! Every time we had a question or a crazy idea, she had an answer right away and she would do everything she could to make it happen. One thing that we were really hoping for was getting a disco ball above our dance floor, but since we were outdoors, it wasn’t looking promising. McKenna was the one who made sure that we got our disco ball, and it was absolutely perfect! That’s just one example of the many ways McKenna ensured our dream wedding would become a reality. My partner and I’s venue search ended the second we ascended in the historical elevator to the penthouse of the James Oviatt Building. The Oviatt venue is a multifaceted piece of beautiful Art Deco history that lends itself well to whatever event you are trying to throw. In our case, they hosted our wedding. We will forever be grateful for their immense care and kindness leading up to, on, and after the big day. We met the President Gabe first, who had his own wedding at this venue before he managed it. He made us feel right at home and answered every question we could muster. Our one hour showing turned into a two and a half hour conversation where his care and passion for the venue and his clients became very clear. We felt a connection right away. He shared a wealth of great advise and reassurances and gave us an impeccable pool of preferred vendors. We were sold in minutes. Every event is different, but my partner and I did not feel the space needed any help to become beautiful. The architectural art of the space is breathtaking and unique from the valet area outside of the Cicada Club all the way to the terrace. We saved a fortune on a florist. Who needs one when everything is already so classy? Speaking of class, the Director of Events Lindsey took point on execution and was our resource during the planning process. I as an individual am not the most communicative. I needed someone with that attention to detail and she delivered. After giving her all the venue required specifications (seating chart, insurances, etc,) two conversations was all it took for her to equip the venue with everything it needed and make it gorgeous. It seemed effortless for her. Not a spec of dust or dirt to be seen and the staff was respectful, efficient, and welcoming. I had a panic attack because I forgot to ask them for valet and she was able to get her people on it without issue the same week as the wedding. (Don’t be like me, but that is a perfect example of how on top of it they are.) They had EVERYTHING we could have wanted for a downtown metropolitan wedding and then some. If they didn’t have it? They knew exactly where to refer you. One of my personal favorite features was their completely customizable LED lighting strips on the hedges that lined either side of the rooftop. We had them a bright warm light for dinner and then a cycle of rainbow colors for dancing. They are inclusive and welcoming to any and all who come to visit. We felt valued, respected, and well cared for. It truly was the best day of our lives and we owe it all to The Oviatt. I implore to to reach out to them. I can say with certainty that you won’t be disappointed and whatever it is you are planning will become a memorable experience unlike any other.

Where do we even start with Tavi -- she is perfect in every way!! She's that balanced blend that we all want in a planner of detailed, fun, and gets the job done. She was there for us every step of the way, but her magic really shined through when our venue had to change 2 days before the wedding. She immediately sprung into action, secured us an incredible new venue, and made sure all vendors were onboard with the new game plan, all without us having to lift a finger. We don't know what we would have done without Tavi and will certainly be recommending her to every single friend ever, until the end of time. On top of that final hour hero swoop, she made the whole wedding look GORGEOUS. There was not a single detail she missed. She took a random box of decorations we provided, and made a magical garden of eden out of it. We got so many compliments after about how seamless the wedding was, and so many said that if we hadn't told them about the venue change, they would have been none the wiser. Literally from the first interaction, Trey was thoroughly professional. We knew instantly that we'd be in good hands during the process, and he maintained through the big day. With Trey, we always had clarity over next steps, and we also got as much flexibility as we could ever hope for. We had a slightly unusual (or, unconventional) ceremony in a couple of ways, and Trey handled every request without any issue. Lastly, and most importantly for a DJ, he nailed the music. We felt like he "got" us while also filling in the gaps appropriately. A true professional, and we feel fortunate having him on the deck for our celebration.

Aladdin Films did a great job! We’ve been searching for a wedding photographer and videographer for our wedding. We went through multiple offers from different studious, but none of them stood out, and the prices were quite frankly, too high. No, thank you. Then we asked our DJ, who is also my best friend, to help us out with finding a good fit for us. Straight away, I’ve never seen a quicker reply in my life, he referred us to Aladdin Films. He told us a little bit about their workflow, and how professional they really are, and ended abruptly telling us to just give them a call and we’ll understand what he was talking about. My dear husband and I checked their website, and whoa, there were some exceptional pictures and their video really stood out from the others, it was so dynamic and overall looked more like a movie than a wedding video. We gave them a call. Their manager was very, very professional and supportive. It was our first wedding ;) so we got a lot of questions, and we were really looking for guidance. We found the answers to most of our questions and got a lot of new ideas that would never come to our mind. They helped us so much, even before we signed anything with them. At that point, I already booked them in my mind, but my fiance was concerned about the price because he expected it to be overpriced like in the rest of the studious. To his surprise, the price was really reasonable, and we booked them straight away. Whenever we had questions prior to our wedding day, they always answered them, they were so supportive and generous. We’ve discussed with them what timeline would work the best for our situation, they made some very important points, and our wedding day couldn’t go smoother! On the actual wedding day, they did not waste a single second, they were doing something all the time. Posing sessions went effortless, they are really gurus in their field. When it was time to receive our pictures and videos, oh boy. They were outstanding. Every picture transferred emotions, sometimes it was love, and sometimes it was a joy. The video … well, it's not called “Wedding Film” for nothing. It was literally a movie, with great storytelling and a good balance of dynamic and romance. We wanted our wedding video to look like a movie, and they did it! Whoever reads it, I highly recommend you to check them out!
