“I was hesitant to book anyone for our wedding photography at first — it wasn’t personal, I just felt unsure and overwhelmed by the whole process. But John Barone completely changed that. He followed up thoughtfully over email and offered to set up a call. From the moment we started talking, I felt like I was catching up with an old friend. He was clearly the most capable person I had spoken to, and by the end of the call, I was completely sold on him and his team. I had my heart set on a documentary-style photographer, and I was especially drawn to Stuart’s work. I followed his portfolio online and was continually impressed with every post. Leading up to the wedding, John was more of a help than he probably realizes. He took the reins on scheduling the entire day — something that should’ve been in my wheelhouse (I’m a planner and a project manager by day), but somehow felt incredibly daunting. John made it easy and even encouraged me to book extra time with our venue. Thank god he did. Every bit of advice he gave was spot on, from how much time we needed for getting ready, to first look, to portraits. He already delivered about half of our retouched photos a week after the wedding which was insane and I love every single one. He was flexible with the 5 flower girls we had in and out of pictures and the multiple areas on our venue property. “Working with Kandid Art was overall a great experience! They showed up on time and made sure we got all the shots we wanted. Though the wedding ran a bit behind, they were flexible. The photos turned out beautiful, and they got creative with the locations given the cold, rainy weather. They even got some funny shots of the kids at the wedding that are some of my favorites! The video was also good, although I don't love that they had to use like stock music for the background (I guess it's because of copyright issues with other songs?). I wish they would have included audio of the vows rather than the cheers of the attendees, so make sure you ask them to do that if you want it! I do love that they provided us with all the raw video footage though, as some of the most special moments didn't make the highlight video. Due to the event running behind, the cost increased a bit (which I was asked about after the wedding) due to the 2 photographers needing to split up to cover the shots. I wish they had asked me or the Wedding Coordinator about that on the day of so we could understand better what was the issue, but it was a minor thing in terms of communication. Overall 8/10 rating and would recommend.”
