Hi there, thanks for stopping by! I’m Jalen – Owner of Jalen Nicole Floral and Grand Forks native. My story started right out of high school as I began working in floral design here in Grand Forks. I quickly fell in love with the creative process and went on to study at Michael Gaffney’s school of floral design. As I’ve moved through life my passion for floral design has always held true. When the opportunity to open up my own business presented itself I had to go for it, and here we are!

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

We make custom-colored sola wood flower bouquets, boutineers, corsages, centerpieces, and arch pieces! Sola wood flowers are a great keepsake that lasts forever! Much cheaper than fresh floral and much more realistic than silk.

EDIT to bring more awareness. I am NOT a fresh flower florist. I work with beautiful handmade wood flowers. I hand paint them to fit your vision and arrange them. No silk flowers. I started working with wood flowers in February of 2020. A friend of mine had recently gotten married, and seeing her bouquet in the trash stuck with me. I researched fresh vs silk flowers, fresh are stunning but expensive & have a fast expiration date. Silk flowers didn’t really satisfy the customization and realism that I desired. I stumbled across wood flowers, purchased a few & quickly realized that not only was I actually a little talented at what I was doing, but I absolutely LOVED doing it. I fell in love almost immediately. I want to express my love & passion for these wood flowers & I want brides to fall in love the same way I did.
