“We booked a tour with Cold Saturday Farm on a whim, but holy cow am I glad that we did! We met with Brittany on a pretty dreary day in the winter, and even then I could see the beauty in the venue. It truly is a blank canvas that you can really make your own. Plus, the venue checked all the boxes that were super important to us: onsite getting ready spaces for both us, free onsite parking, guest tables and chairs included, and access to the venue all day. For the price, it was a great value. Brittany did end up leaving Cold Saturday, and we do wish that had been proactively communicated to us, but her replacement, Meredith, was fantastic, especially because she started the week before our wedding (I'm pretty sure we were her first wedding at the venue). But she was incredibly helpful and friendly--we actually had guests come up to us and tell us how awesome she was! The only other thing I wish we had known ahead of time was that the getting ready room the guys used didn't have any furniture. It was still being worked on during our tours, so we didn't actually see the room until the day of. So the room may have furniture at some point. Overall, we loved Cold Saturday Farm. It is truly a hidden gem (none of our vendors have ever worked there before but all of them said they loved it), so I really love that it was a pretty unique and beautiful place to have our wedding.”

“This lady is a god damned delight. Early in the planning process, my mother died and it totally sapped me of any appetite for planning. I felt overwhelmed, but when we hired Sarah she helped us turn it all around. She held our hands through the hard part and then helped us stay on task and organized when our energy and excitement came back. She helped us navigate being out of the country for 3 of the six months prior to the wedding. She already had experience and relationships with most of our vendors, which helped those contracts go more smoothly and meant less management from us was required. She was 100% ready to get behind any project we could come up with — she supported our vision like it was her own. Whenever I asked her to find someone who could bring an idea to life, she always did so quickly and often with options to choose from. Her depth of connections meant that when I needed a new photographer with just six weeks to go, she was able to give me at least ten available and talented options in 24 hours. She is a wedding planner pro. Most importantly, she is just a lot of FUN and FUNNY. We enjoyed spending time with her on our monthly check in calls, at tastings, walk throughs, and finally the weekend of the wedding itself. She’s a joyful, quirky, nonjudgmental person who really loves weddings and helping couples have the day of their dreams. She is an LGBTQ affirming vendor which is obviously very important to us as a queer couple. She was extremely RESPONSIVE to all communication and I don’t think I ever waited more than 24 hours to hear back from her. Her planning expertise prior to the actual weekend was invaluable, but she really was our angel during the wedding weekend. She handled the details so that we could stay present and actually enjoy our party! Thank you Sarah for being such a great partner in bringing this wedding to life. “Kay was hands down the best wedding photographer I could have ever asked for. Her style is light and bright which transferred the brightness and happiness of our beautiful wedding day. Not only is she incredibly professional and sweet, but she also delivered a preview in 1 day and our full day of photos in about TWO WEEKS. The online gallery she sent us had literacy over 1,000 photos and they were all edited beautifully. She was able to capture every tear, every funny face, and every unattractive cheesy head-thrown-back laugh. Other than family portraits, she was truly a documentary style photographer in that no photos were staged and every shot is authentic. I could go on and on and on about the actual photos, but in addition to the extreme high quality of her work, Kay was reassuring and helpful throughout the whole process, going so far as supporting me even more than my day-of-coordinator in the creation of the timeline for the day of. “Stop looking...THIS is where you should have your wedding! We weren’t sure what vibe we wanted for our wedding at first, but the moment we walked into Union Mills, we knew it was the right choice. The venue is gorgeous, inside and out—the pictures truly speak for themselves—and it’s perfectly located: walking distance to everything Frederick has to offer, yet super convenient for guests driving in. The part that truly sold us: the food. Niko will literally make anything you want. We chose a fairly traditional dinner, but he added incredible twists that made it unforgettable, like lavender honey butter with our bread assortment, pepitas and pickled onions in our watermelon salad, and the most delicious herb-crusted potatoes (people are still raving about them) alongside our chimichurri steak. Both Mary and Niko go above and beyond to deliver exceptional service. Just a few examples: they let me store my dress in the bridal suite 48 hours before the wedding, added a non-alcoholic prosecco to our getting-ready spread when they heard two of my bridesmaids were pregnant, tracked down porters for my mother-in-law (her favorite), got my husband a special bottle of whiskey for the evening, and even fine-tuned my signature cocktail (a watermelon margarita) the very morning of the wedding to make sure it was perfect. On top of that, their staff was constantly checking on us throughout the entire night to make sure we were having the best time...and we absolutely were. We truly couldn’t recommend a better venue. Location, ambiance, food, service...Union Mills has it all. We only wish we could get married here every weekend!”

Caboose Farm is a beautiful, rustic wedding venue located in Sabillasville, Maryland (just north of Frederick, MD) that blends beautiful scenery with convenient accommodations. Located in close proximity to Baltimore; Washington, D.C.; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the venue offers a charming 220-acre space with access to attractions such as golf, wineries, and hiking. Its scenery also provides a beautiful backdrop for events, with scenic wedding sites to choose from, countryside barn, and pastoral farms and pastures. Inside the event buildling we can comfortably accommodate up to 150 guests for a seated dinner. For groups over 150, we would have to bring in a tent for the dinner portion of the evening. The property offers seven fully furnished houses on its premises that can, collectively, accommodate 97 guests. The houses offer you the opportunity to spend a full weekend with your friends and family while celebrating your special day with those you love!

“Caboose Farm is a magical dream! We wanted a wedding venue that allowed some of our guests to stay on site, allowed us to host both the wedding and reception as well as a welcome dinner for all of our guests on Friday. We almost gave up on that dream until we visited Caboose Farm on a cold day in November and knew it would be perfect! Flash forward to September and it was a gorgeous property full of flowers!! Our guests were blown away by the houses, the glade where we decided to have the ceremony, the event barn where we had a BBQ Friday and cocktail hour Saturday, and our tented reception overlooking the amazing property. We worked with Colby and our wedding planners the Otherside Creatives to sort out the many aspects of our wedding weekend and everything was perfect. We had a roaring fire both nights, beautifully crafted cocktails, and a golf cart always at the ready to help some of our unsteady guests. We cannot recommend Caboose Farm and their team enough! Truly the best weekend of our lives!”

I ordered my bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres from Brook Hill Flowers, but got 2 DIY boxes of flowers from Wegman's in Frederick. However, my BFFs who helped me organize and decorate my wedding (at my home) were all thumbs the morning of and needed help putting all the vases together. When Jessica came to drop off the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres, she asked if there was anything she could help with and my MOH ran over and asked for her help. “Maryland National was the PERFECT venue for our wedding! From the very beginning, Reghan and the whole team were incredible. Reghan went above and beyond to help us plan everything – she was so easy to work with and always had the best recommendations. I loved how easy it was to communicate with her through email. We got married at our church, but had the reception at Maryland National. They even let us use the club to get ready since our church didn't have a space! The girls got ready upstairs, and the guys used the locker rooms, which was amazing for getting-ready photos. Plus, the food was delicious! What we loved most was that we didn't have to set up or clean up anything – Maryland National took care of it all. We didn't even have to take decorations home the night of the wedding! We could pick them up the next day. It was the most perfect day, and we can't thank Reghan and the staff enough. Seriously, if you're looking for an amazing venue, this is it!”
