“We were going to go with an off island photographer when we came across Eli and their work. Their knowledge of the island, how the wind blows differently on different sides of our venue, how the light hits perfectly on this side of the venue and we can still get an ocean view — that they care about the power lines and know how to avoid cars in the back of ceremony images. The list just went on and on and on. Working with Eli was like working with a walking encyclopedia of Block Island. And when you're getting married on the island, it's such an asset. Eli helped walk us through other on island vendors, best spots for our engagement sessions, different hotels that might suite certain guests better than others, an amazing casual rehearsal dinner/welcome party idea that was flawless, and I just couldn't be happier. When we got the images though, I didn't know what to say. Eli had captured so much of our story, we felt the same jitters getting ready to walk down the aisle looking through images of moments we didn't. get to experience on our wedding day (we were a little busy, getting married, and you just can't witness everything). Eli was so great with our friends and family, able to choral a few of my drunk groomsmen, while simultaneously making my antsy family members just super at ease and happy. It is not just the amount or the quality of the photos you get with Shelby, but her customer service is above and beyond. She met with me in person 3 times to help settle my nerves and I couldn't have been more grateful. Shelby was so understanding and no vision I had was too outlandish or too much trouble. She communicated in a transparent, deliberate way, but was never pushy or disrespectful. I interviewed multiple photographers and truly, we just meshed well together. Shelby is unique and her sparkle really shines during the chaos, handling it like a BOSS! We had a military wedding and let me tell you, she handled it. I learned that she also only takes 3-4 weddings a month to really prioritize her clients and let me tell you, it shows so much! She got us sneak peaks within a week and the full gallery was delivered in 4 weeks. Look, I could have easily been classified as an "intense" bride and Shelby reassured me all day and reminded me that I was allowed to enjoy my day. Truly, I didn't just hire a photographer that day, I hired a trusted friend and we have already planned our 5 year anniversary photos in Italy with her. I know this review is a lot, but if you are looking for a photographer (that essentially has the 2nd MOST IMPORTANT role on your wedding day), that will give you more than a camera click and congratulations email, then SHELBY IS YOUR GIRL!!! Just talk to her! She shoots you straight and can help so much! Also, last thing, she respected our privacy. Our gallery was delivered via USB because we can't have personal photos of my husband on the internet. You will also not see them anywhere on her socials or website and they were not shared with other vendors, per our request. Yes, military family here. We trust her and you can too.”
