Brin’s Posy is named after my beloved dog. She passed away unexpectedly a few years ago, leaving myself and her pup sister (Abby) to figure out life without her. We were months of grieving her loss when a close friend insisted I channel the grief energy into something positive. A bell went off in my head as my current job as a florist in a far away town was coming to an end. Brin’s Posy helped me come to terms with the loss. I still have Abby (the shop girl) in the shop daily and occasionally out to our farm venues! We love to source local and work with community members.

Flowers have such a magical way of bringing life to events! My favorite part of a wedding is seeing the dream becoming reality during setup. Your flowers should be features that accent your beauty and energy, and I love creating that for you! I started working in floristry while preparing for my own wedding. From elopements with a single bouquet to events with thousands of stems, I’ve loved every opportunity to create something new. When I’m not immersed in “flower town,” as my husband calls it, you can find us and our three kiddos (the five stems!) doing DIY projects around the house, reading outside, or playing MarioKart as a family!

I'm a dreamer, a maker, a memory curator with a love for the written word. I have a master's in laughter, and am a world renown mess maker. I’m a wannabe world changer, a devoted pray-er, and an avid forgiver. I’m a barefoot kitchen dancer, a hammock reader and sun seeker, an accident-prone adventurer... and hopefully, when I look back, a professional life-rider and full-fledged compassion giver.

This led me to explore alternative solutions, and I discovered a passion for creating my own florals. I was delighted to find that I had a knack for it! My goal is to make stunning arrangements accessible to all.

I am a home-based floral designer, trained in European hand-tied bouquets by the Middle Atlantic Florist Association, trained in flower treatment and high-end wedding designs by world-renowned California-based Dutch Florist, Rene van Rems. "Fashion Forward Weddings: Bouquets, Tablescapes, and Beyond" was his seminar that I attended. I have also studied at the American School of Flower Design under author and designer Michael Gaffney.

Lauren Thompson has had a lifelong love of flowers that started in her mom's garden as a young girl. She is greatly inspired by nature and the natural colors of the changing seasons. She has developed her trade of flower arranging for over 15 years and takes great joy in helping brides bring beauty to their wedding day. She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with her husband and four children and is available for travel.
