Rune & Rose Floral Designs is a sustainability focused design team with a unique and elevated style inspired by our connection to others, movement and nature. Rune & Rose Floral Designs prioritizes sustainability & community by sourcing blooms from local farmers during the New England growing season. Working with Emily as the florist for our wedding was absolutely amazing. She was so personable and really made our vision come to life. Emily took the time to really understand our vision, make a PowerPoint, and gather as much information about the florals we were envisioning for our big day. Emily created the most beautiful centerpieces, arch decor, aisle markers, bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and other arrangements for our wedding. She was always available to communicate with and beyond flexible with us when we wanted to add on additional florals. We cannot recommend Emily enough for anyone looking for a florist. Beth was communicative, caring and provided great guidance for me as a bride who didn't have her wedding planned in her mind since she was young. I had general ideas of what I imagined, but she really created the perfect portfolio for us. She had our best interest in mind when we reviewed costs and was always finding a way to make sure my vision became reality. Not only did she provide the most beautiful ceremony arch, bouquet and sweetheart table display, she helped me choose what colors and styles in the stationary that would complement my color scheme. I would absolutely recommend her to any bride in the Hudson valley. She goes above and beyond! Lauren & Tyler, 10.18.2024

Dean Street Daisies

5.0

  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Pleasantville, NY

Hi there! I’m Karina, an architect turned floral designer dabbling in all things daisies and more! My enthusiasm for floristry began in Brooklyn as a way to express my love for nature and design, but mostly so I could bring color, life, and beauty into my apartment on, you guessed it, Dean Street! Now, Dean Street Daisies has blossomed into a full-service floral and event design studio on the Hudson River in Irvington, NY where I live and create in a converted chapel with my husband and two cats!

We had Dean Street Daisy do a bouquet making activity for a bachelorette party and it was one of the best parts of our weekend. Her set up was beautiful, her instructions and attention to everyone was beyond perfect, she taught us about bouquet composition, color composition, she even brought wine to taste as we made our bouquets, and she tailored all the flowers and colors to go perfectly with our themed garden dinner party to follow! Highly highly highly recommend for any and all events. 15/10 stars

Something Borrowed Blooms was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding flowers. From the beginning, their communication was simple, easy, and direct - making the process completely worry-free. Their selection was great, and their prices were incredibly affordable, which was a huge relief as we planned our wedding from out of town. The floral arrangements they created were absolutely beautiful, and I loved that I could add a scent to give them an extra touch of realism. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Our wedding was held at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in June 2024. Kate was such a pleasure to work with and really brought our floral vision to life! I appreciated her free excel planning tools and how responsive she was from our first inquiry. After our first phone call, I realized that she is incredibly easy-going and down to earth, in addition to being well-organized. These are qualities you want in your wedding vendors. I have always loved florals and she helped me craft a vision that stayed within our budget. Our theme was coastal vineyard - I wanted the vibe to be loose & romantic without veering too rustic. She found this balance perfectly! On our wedding day, she arrived early and took care of everything quietly without a hitch! I didn't have to worry about a thing. I can't recommend Fountainhead Floral enough!

We received so many compliments about the flowers Brittany prepared for our wedding, lots of guests saying that they’ve never seen prettier roses. The arrangements Brittany prepared for our wedding were beyond the quality I even thought imaginable. Omg where do I even begin??! Nicole is a master of her craft. I reached out in December 2022 for my May 5, 2024 wedding and I knew after our first phone call that she was the one I wanted designing my flowers and centerpieces. We instantly clicked and she knew exactly what I was envisioning and how to get us there. All throughout the process she kept me involved and was constantly making sure it’s what I wanted. Even though I knew what colors she was going with I was still left absolutely speechless when my bouquets were delivered to my hotel room the morning of. And when I walked into the venue and saw the centerpieces I was in awe. Like she blew it out of the water. Nicole is one of the most kind hearted, beautiful people I’ve met throughout my whole wedding planning process and even in my life and I’m beyond grateful for her. First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.

A Floral Designs made our fairytale come true. Ayana and her team are incredibly talented, have an unmatched eye for detail/style, are communicative, and reliable. When we first reached out to A Floral, we chatted had been chatting with a few different florists. After our conversation with Ayana, the decision was easy. She listened to what we wanted and made it clear that she would get it right. Once we decided to go with her as our florist, the care and support didn’t stop. We visited her shop where she gave us beautiful displays of what we could expect on our big day. Most importantly, she worked with our budget to achieve our vision. She also came along during our venue walkthroughs so she could see the space and be adequately prepared for the wedding day. She’s also a kind person—which may not seem important now but trust me! The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!

For the wedding, my daughter knew exactly what she wanted and when I tell you Amy more then delivered I am not exaggerating. The floral bouquets and boutonnieres were stunning and when we walked into the venue the floral arrangements and swags and floral details with the candles took our breath away. The Venue was beautiful but the flowers made everything even more beautiful and elegant! The florals and candles really set the tone and the mood. The attention to detail was phenomenal! I am Vicki Weed, yes, that is my real name. I have been a wedding only florist in the Hudson Valley for over 30 years. I love flowers and weddings more than you can imagine! I only book a limited number of weddings per year, to ensure my clients get the attention they deserve. I strive to deliver the freshest flowers from local and wholesale growers. I also lend or rent containers, props and decor - to keep costs and the imprint on the environment as low as possible. I would love to create the floral of your dreams!

From the moment I met Vicki from Deja Vu Floral I knew I was in good hands. She immediately understood my vision for a simply, cozy winter wedding (January 2024) and offered expert advice on how to bring it to life. Her knowledge of seasonal blooms and color palettes was impressive, and she was able to suggest stunning floral arrangements that perfectly complemented our venue. Her knowledge and easy demeanor put me at ease and I didn't consider anyone else after speaking to her.  The day of the wedding, the floral arrangements were absolutely breathtaking. My bridal bouquet was even more beautiful than I could have imagined, and it was the perfect accessory to my wedding dress. The centerpieces, which were actually runners so that my guests could actually see and speak to each other, were elegant and eye-catching, and the ceremony flowers were simply stunning.  What truly sets Vicki and Deja Vu apart is her professionalism and dedication to her clients. She was incredibly responsive, always available to answer questions and address any concerns. She was also very flexible and accommodating, working with us to create a custom floral package that fit our budget. I cannot recommend Deja Vu highly enough. Vicki's talent, creativity, and professionalism made our wedding day truly unforgettable. If you're looking for a florist who will go above and beyond to create stunning floral arrangements, I highly recommend choosing Deja Vu!!!
