In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

Goodtree Farmstead is an elegant and rustic Minnesota farm event and wedding venue in Northfield, just a short drive from the Twin Cities. Located in rural Northfield, we are a few minutes outside of the quaint downtown area, but also a 15 minute drive from Lakeville or 40 minute drive from downtown Minneapolis or Saint Paul. We are a 14 acre former dairy farm nestled in a wooded area surrounded by green farmland and our very own pond and wandering creek. Our red barn--built in 1897 with soaring ceilings and stunning pegged beams, and the other farm out-buildings have all the charm you need to make your farm wedding or special event dreams come true.

Venue pricing ranges from $6,000–$8,000+, depending on date and season, and includes wedding planning support, tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, and additional décor (or DIY). Catered meals start at $13.50 per guest, and couples are welcome to bring their own liquor, beverages, snacks, and desserts to help save on costs. Beer and ice are through our affordable off-sale liquor provider. For approximately 200 guests, venue, bar, and meals typically total $10K–$12K, depending on your date (WOW!). We’ve owned and operated our family perennial farm with sprawling gardens which has hosted hundreds of weddings for over 25 years. Our new wedding & events facility is a heated & cooled vintage, European-style carriage house to match our existing civil war era (1858!) brick house. The Carriage House can accommodate 150 guests in the warm months and 100 in the winter. The space flows into the gardens and expansive patio area for additional seating. Our one day venue rental rate include access at 9 am to the Bridal Home and Groom's Suite, your choice of two wooded ceremony sites, our white pavilion with wood harvest tables and chairs for 200; complete with enclosures in case of inclement weather and a floor to ceiling fireplace, a cocktail barn and 26 acres of woods, lawn, meadows and trails to create a unique experience for your guests. We have literally thought of everything at Genesis Ranch and we "don't charge extra for silly stuff" as one couple commented post tour! We provide everything you need plus a gorgeous neutral back drop for you to host the wedding of your dreams!
