The Hampshire House is a classic turn-of-the-century mansion on historic Beacon Hill, where generations of Bostonians and their guests have wined, dined, and danced the night away. Hampshire House offers sweeping views of the Boston Public Garden. This five-story Georgian revival townhouse was lavished with Italian marble, carved oak paneling, crystal chandeliers, and tall Palladian windows. Hampshire House opens its doors for lavish private events - the perfect spot for elegant wedding celebrations. Whether you are dreaming of an intimate champagne brunch or an elaborate evening reception, the Hampshire House will help you design a personalized and unforgettable experience that is all your own.

Second Floor
Classic Bostonian elegance.
The Second Lloor Library is the grandest room in our mansion. It is designed with high ceilings, tall windows overlooking Beacon Street and the Boston Public Garden, intricately carved oak paneling with bookshelves, a magnificent working marble fireplace, and a functional baby grand piano. The space allows your guests to experience a true and classic Bostonian venue. This space can accommodate a maximum of 100 guests for a plated meal and up to 150 for a reception style event.

Intimate gatherings with exceptional views
The third floor rooms provide an intimate setting for your event. With a working marble fireplace along with gorgeous views of the Boston Public Garden, the third floor is the perfect spot for your gathering. When the mansion was built, the third floor served as bedrooms for the Thayer family. The Thayer room, belonging to Mrs. Thayer, was chosen for it's views as she was a member of the Boston Horticultural Society.

Would book this venue 10000x over!
Hampshire House is a special, truly unique and beautiful space for a wedding and Victoria Costa is an amazing manager/person! When I first saw the pictures of Hampshire House I thought “this is my dream wedding space” and they made it happen. My husband and I wanted a space that felt intimate and comfortable for our smaller-ish wedding, and we wanted it to be already filled with character and history so that we didn’t need to add too much to the space in terms of florals, decorations, etc. We also wanted a wedding venue that was very “Boston” with all of the New England charm. From our first meeting with Victoria, we felt that she was attentive, answered all of our questions and made us feel like our wedding was going to be as special as we were imagining it. She walked us through each part of the event and the day and we truly felt the whole time that we were in the best hands. The process was very smooth. Also, Hampshire House is an amazingly well run machine when it comes to putting on a wedding - they know how to transform all of the rooms and keep your guests smoothly moving throughout the various spaces so you feel like you and your guests are taken care of the whole time. One thing to know is that the food is incredible. Our guests absolutely loved it and we still have friends and family comment on their meal. How many times do people still talk about the food from a wedding?! We are so incredibly thankful that we found the Hampshire House and hope to be back to visit many times over the years. Thank you for creating our dream day and making every part so spectacular and special.

We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect venue for our wedding than the Hampshire House. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how beautiful everything was. The staff was truly outstanding—professional, attentive, and incredibly kind. Everything ran seamlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy our evening without worrying about a thing. A special thank-you to Brittney, who was such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire planning process. She was responsive, organized, and genuinely cared about making our wedding exactly what we hoped it would be.

From the moment we started planning our wedding at Hampshire House, the staff was incredibly helpful, detailed, and attentive in ensuring our vision came to life. On the day of our wedding, Karim was so kind and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the incredible food and beautiful space. From start to finish (and beyond), the staff at Hampshire House were incredible to work with. The Director of Sales, Michele Giacomozzi, was patient, knowledgeable, communicative, and helped us to create the wedding of our dreams! The day-of staff (Bartenders, waiters, kitchen, etc.) were all attentive and made the day effortless for my husband and me. Besides the staff, I appreciated how transparent Hampshire House was throughout the process - whether it be about pricing, chair upgrades or kids' meals, they made it easy to budget and understand what was included. The venue itself was perfection - we absolutely fell in love with the 2nd floor library space when we visited and seeing it on the wedding day was so magical! The library exuded elegance and gave our night a cozy, intimate feel - all our guests loved it and felt it was so perfectly us. The long rectangle tables were great for conversation and left plenty of space for a dance party! Hampshire House is classic & quintessentially Boston; I can't recommend the space enough! Lastly, but certainly not least, the food at Hampshire House was stellar! Our tasting was so fun, Michele and her team walked us through the whole process and were so patient with us. The food on the day of was incredible and the guests could not stop raving about it! The Baby Lamb Chops in particular were a favorite as were the entrees (Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Lemon Thyme Chicken Breast, and Wild Mushroom Ravioli) and specialty drinks (Paper Plane & Pomegranate Paloma). I truly cannot say enough good things about our experience with the Hampshire House! Highly recommend!
