“TLDR: Hiring Modern Highway for our wedding was, hands down, the best decision my wife and I made for our big day. First and foremost, they are all talented, professional, and brought a large repertoire to the table. Christina is a fantastic singer, with big range. She is also a great business person, again with exceptional range - handling our light, acoustic service music, our post-wedding cocktail music, and our reception music. All live - which kicked the sheeet out of a DJ. She also MC’d. For weddings, hitting hitches is bad - there were none. The long version: Our wedding was a Sunday. It was in a more remote area from LA - Temecula. My wife had just been injured in a car accident - so we were a little nervous but the event was still a go with many people flying in. I am a musician and my wife and I had made the decision that live music was what we wanted for our big celebration. In hindsight, my only regret is the Sunday wedding because we hired Modern Highway to do our music and they were on fire. And some guests had to think about…Monday. But Christina and the band really held things together. It was a fun event and a big piece of that was the music. Christina brought a tremendous amount of energy. Her voice is electric and, when it came time to dance, the band brought it. Christina was very active moving through the crowd, dancing and singing. It is so hard to do that well - to be the energy. Where we needed “other” services, for first dances, parent dances, introductions, ceremony, etc., Christina & Modern Highway had it all covered. In a few cases we needed streamed music - covered. We needed someone to make the event go from the mic - covered. In a unique circumstance, my own band wanted to play - covered. If I’d been them, I would have said no. And frankly, based on what I saw from Christina, we could not have had a better person handling the mic that night. My wife and I look back on our wedding day as a true blessing - a day we were ecstatic about on the spot. I know a big piece of our internal satisfaction is knowing the entertainment was top notch. I wish Christina could have been our photographer as well!”

We first spotted him in action on Golden Bell's Instagram, and it was an instant "that's our guy!" moment. You can imagine our excitement when we found out he was available for our date! Working with Marlon from the very beginning was just an absolute pleasure. He wasn't just playing music; he was genuinely feeling the room, intuitively knowing when to let a song build or transition to keep the energy up. We had a last-minute idea to add an extra instrument, and the Golden Bell team didn't blink. They jumped right in, helping us find the perfect addition without any issues. Plus, we had a separate violinist for our ceremony, and it was so impressive to see how effortlessly all the vendors collaborated. No drama, just smooth, professional teamwork, which really speaks volumes about Golden Bell's commitment to making your day seamless. Now, for the ultimate highlight: our after-party! We decided to do something a little different and host it in a wine cellar, and Marlon and his team elevated it beyond anything we could have imagined. When they brought in a fog machine, the entire atmosphere transformed. It wasn't just a party; it was an experience! That fog machine honestly MADE the party, turning the space into something truly epic. I genuinely can't picture it having the same incredible energy without it, so a massive thank you for that unexpected, perfect touch. And because we had a masquerade theme, I asked if the DJs would wear disco masks and they SAID YES and wore them the entire time, even after I told them they absolutely didn't have to for more than one song! It just created such an amazing vibe, and we've got the pictures to prove how much fun everyone had! There's just so much to appreciate about this incredible group. “I am so happy to write a review for Seth and his team! From the very beginning, Seth has been a pleasure to work with. The first meeting I was very impressed by how he had researched the wedding venue and its layout so that he could ask us what our thoughts were on setup/DJ location placement etc. Our second meeting was then focused on how to set up the wedding playlist using the Vibo app. The app is fantastic, and an excellent way to keep track of the songs you wish to have played at certain time points (bridal processional, grand entrance, pre-ceremony, etc.). In the app you can request starting timepoints and leave extra notes for Seth to look over weeks before the wedding. Aside from these aspects, Seth went above and beyond to help us with other non-music related aspects of the wedding such as our wedding slideshow (that he helped give us step by step instructions so that the quality of the slideshow would be good for when it was projected on the wall of venue). He also created a mashup for my husband to dance with his mom ("Dance with me" mixed with "Just Dance"; it was amazing!). Even during the week of the wedding, when I had a mini-freak out, he was so kind and understanding. In the end, I 100% recommend Seth (and Matt too! He was at the Photo Booth, and he was so kind and was ready to help folks if any technical help was needed)! Seth's team is professional, kind, and has great attention to detail; if you can, book DJ Seth and his team for your wedding!”

Even though we hadn't included the additional setup in the original quote, he gave it to us as a wedding gift. He was on top of all of the songs. Not once did I turn around and feel like he had left his station. He was managing the photo booth phenomenally while also providing every song that we had requested on time and with an enthusiastic behavior. He kept the crowd excited. He knew the right times to change the music and he was absolutely hysterical by joking around with our guests and even being playful when introducing key songs. He really cares about his work and the service he provides. He goes above and beyond to make you feel special and taken care of and is someone I would hire for any event that I throw in the future. I had a phenomenal time working with him. I will say don't be stressed if he doesn't respond to your text messages. He is definitely somebody that will answer a phone call more often than a text. But nevertheless, he shows up and provides incredible service with a smile and I couldn't have asked for our event to go any better. He really really did a great job. Just make sure that you put everything you want in his app because he uses that to make sure that he does what you're asking of him. All of your comments all of your needs. Any specific songs you want played are all in there, so be sure to stay on top of that so that you can guarantee a wonderful experience like I had. I can't say this enough. Hire him. “Before choosing Makai, my partner and I watched videos of at least a dozen DJs. Based on the energy and interactions we saw from Makai, we knew he was the one for us and our wedding day. From our first video call with him, we knew we had struck gold. What was meant to be a one hour zoom call turned into three hours of laughing and sharing stories as if we were old friends who had been separated by time. Makai was patient at every step in our process. He came prepared - he provided us a very helpful packet which enabled us to better organize our event. My partner and I did have many of our own ideas, and Makai graciously worked with every single idea of ours. When our ideas were incomplete or needed tweaking, he came up with creative solutions that incorporated our wants and his experience. After getting off our zoom call with Makai, my partner and I shared a big sigh of relief. In months of planning, most things had been stressful, but working with Makai felt almost too easy. We were very well taken care of. On the day of our event, Makai was early. Makai generously helped with things that were not at all his responsibility. Makai was loved by our guest; he contributed to a great vibe. Every time I looked at Makai, he had a beaming smile on his face. Even while continuing to enjoy the festivities, Makai’s music was on point. Amongst a handful of other vendors who were also awesome, Makai stands out because his contributions to our day were so impactful. I can’t recommend Makai enough.”

“We hired Bob Gail's dance band "Higher Ground" for our wedding last month at the Bel Air Bay Club. Having a live band at our wedding was always my dream but admittedly not my fiancee's or her family's. Any skepticsim completely evaporated by the time the wedding reception started. Our band--11 pieces, including trombone--was spectacular. I really can't say enough about how fun the evening was with Higher Ground leading the dance floor. We, and all our guests, danced non-stop. From start to finish, the band's song selections perfectly matched the energy throughout the evening. Every member was super talented, with the lead singers perfectly capturing the sound and feel of the original songs but with an energy that is only possible performed live. We were seriously impressed with their sheer versatility, jumping effortlessly between different genres and eras. We also had a few specific requests that the band very flexibily accommodated. We had choreography for our first dance and the band offered to rehearse with us before the reception. We also wanted to play some recorded songs during the band's breaks and they wove our songs into their own set list seamlessly. Bob Gail also offered a very intuitive song selection tool on which we could specify which songs we wanted to hear at the wedding. They even went out of their way to learn a song that was not part of their set list but that they knew we love. The band members were also incredibly friendly and gracious. They felt like a part of the family for the night. Even now, a month after the wedding, we still have family members tell us how great the band was and one guest even told me she can't wait to hire them for her own son's wedding no matter the cost.”
