Ashley of Blue Lark Events is a life saver. She helped me with venue research and day of services for a very reasonable fee. What I appreciated the most about Ashley is that she helped me stay organized. What I loved about Ashley was that she made some great suggestions and answered questions about what is common and she explained wedding trends. She saved me time, effort and money, as I otherwise would have made some decisions that were more expensive than were needed for the circumstances. One of the highlights of the wedding - that was loved by my guests and me - was Ashley's suggestion to do a photo bomb. Screw the photo both. You are the prop for people's photos. Stick the couple in the middle of the dance floor, play an upbeat song, and explain to everyone that they need to run behind the couple for a quick photo, taking turns. Rapid fire and in real time, those photos were hilarious. Folks grouped up for shots and couples jumped in our laps. Ashley also helped me source a really good photographer. What struck me the most was that I knew she was really great at her job after our various meetings over the course of many months, but my spouse didn't really interact with her much prior to the wedding. At the wedding he was like, "oh my God, Ashley has a sixth sense for whenever something is about to go wrong!" I was so smug - with a I told you so look in response. Be it a broken glass cigar ash tray that met the cement and is now attempting to ruin your shoes, an overturned umbrella making a run for it or that sound system that just is not acting as expected - she was there problem solving. After we got behind during the dinner speeches (which of course, she warned me about but I didn't police the speech writing), I lost all sense of control and LOVED IT. She was like you are dancing now, you are cutting cake now, you are photo bombing now - in much more rapid succession than had been planned. It was such a relief to just have someone handle us, as if we were celebrities getting ushered from one high profile moment to the next! Her quick action helped us make up time so that our guests weren't waiting around and so our vendors could be released on time. So why haven't you emailed Blue Lark Events yet? Do it now. PS - I included a picture that my photographer snapped right before the ceremony started. You can tell future hubbie needed to just be near someone and was regretting his decision to not have a groomsman wait with him. But it was fine, because Ashley's sixth sense was there. Always ready to calmly say what is about to happen and what will follow next. When I asked hubbie what Ashley said to him in this moment, he said, "I have no idea, but I guarantee you she was not freaking out like I was."

She took care of everything before the wedding with a couple of visits to the house and via calls and email. The best thing I did for my wedding was hire Jodie and her team! We came from out of state to have our wedding in Oregon, and I truly don’t know how we would have managed without them. Jodie helped keep me sane! From the very beginning I felt like she really understood the vision for our special day and went above and beyond in more ways than one to make it come true. Sometimes it’s the little details that matter, and she thought of all of them. I was thoroughly impressed by her professionalism and ability to manage all the moving parts with such grace and poise. Kaila is really great! We hired her as our day-of coordinator for our recent micro wedding and it was absolutely one of the best decisions we made. She was able to advise us on the event timeline, toast procedure, etc. in the months leading up to the big day, which was incredibly helpful since we'd never done this before. She also attended our rehearsal and helped make sure everything ran smoothly and everyone knew the plan. She was great at collaborating with our officiant during this process as well. But it was the day of the event when she really shined. As the bride, I didn't want to have to think about any logistics at the venue while I was getting ready and with Kaila, I didn't have to! She sent me one quick question via text that morning that I was glad to weigh in and otherwise, she totally took care of the rest. The venue looked amazing, everything ran like clockwork, and she made sure to keep us in the loop when (and only when) it was necessary. She even brought us some appetizers to snack on while we were waiting on a vendor to arrive to bustle my dress so that we didn't miss out on our own food! If you're looking for a great partner to provide just that little extra coordination the day of your event, I highly recommend Kaila!

Rattan Events made our special day absolutely perfect. From the beginning, Miranda’s communication was consistently encouraging and honest, putting us at ease throughout the entire planning process. Zoe put in so much hard work leading up to the wedding and especially on the day of. She pulled off a huge afternoon tea wedding with grace, good cheer, and patience. Everything was just so beautiful, I didn’t want it to end! Every time I talk to my mama about what an incredible job she did she says Zoe never stopped working so quickly and efficiently the whole day!! From the moment I spoke with Zoe, I knew I wanted her to be the one to make my afternoon tea wedding reception come true! She is so kind and organized and quick to respond to questions. She made a timeline for the wedding and added teacups, teapots, and a cute cart to the timeline so it wasn't just text on white paper. She really is more of a months-before-coordinator instead of a day-of-coordinator. She responded to texts and emails quickly and helped me stay calm leading up to the wedding day. Zoe met me, my then future husband, my mama and dad, and our caterer at the bridge club about two weeks before the big day. She helped figure out where everything was going to go and had a contingency plan in case it rained (which it did) She timed out how long it would take for my parents to walk me down the aisle so we knew how long we could let the processional song play. On the big day, it was raining but that didn't spoil Zoe's mood or ability to put everything together in a timely manner. She worked alongside our tea service person to set 14 tables with different color tablecloths, mismatched teacups, saucers, bread plates, luncheon plates, 3-tiered stands, water glasses, coupe glasses, napkins, decorative books, table numbers, bud vases, and wedding favors for 52 people. She also set-up our welcome table with bread and butter, water dispensers, guest book, and library card catalog for the seating chart. In addition to all this, she made sure I had my bouquet and was ready to walk down the aisle on-time, played the 3 different songs we had for the ceremony, and wrangled the guests to be seated and placed our floral arrangements on either side of the alter. During the afternoon tea she poured water, Prosecco, and sparkling apple cider for everyone. She played our Spotify playlist from her phone and brought out the wedding cake for us to cut. Once the reception was over, she and our tea server packed up all of the items so our Taskrabbit person could take everything back to our condo. She did this so quickly and efficiently and told me and my husband we didn't need to help. I really don't think we could have pulled off such a huge event without her!! Oh! and she was so sweet during the getting ready portion of the day, she gave me a glass teapot ornament as a wedding day gift (((*warm fuzzies*)))
