After we submitted our worksheets, we had a call with DJ Karizma. He went through each and every song we requested, he played a tidbit of each one, and we confirmed it was the correct song. Later in the call, he respectfully brought up some concerns regarding what we had envisioned and how it conflicted with some of the logistics. We were so incredibly grateful for this conversation because HE is the professional and he was sharing HIS professional opinions. In the end, we took every single bit of his advice and it turned out EVEN BETTER than we had ever imagined! “Let me start off by saying that I didn't think I "needed" a DJ for my wedding, so I didn't budget for one initially. It was about halfway through wedding planning that my now-husband and I decided we should invest in one, so it would be one less thing for us to have to do on our wedding day. Budget was super important to us when booking a DJ, but we also wanted someone who was experienced and knew what they were doing. The DJ Company of Virginia did not disappoint! Nikki and Devail helped me during the booking and planning process, and helped pick the right DJ to use for our venue. When planning, we were able to suggest a bunch of songs that both of us love and also got to make a list of any songs we didn't want to hear. Our guests were able to suggest songs on their own, and I gave those to the DJ beforehand (it was a question on our RSVP form). If you wanted your guests to suggest songs during the reception, I know they would be able to do that too! Jose was the DJ for our wedding and he was super friendly and easy to talk to! My husband and I did a "fake out" for our first dance, where we made it seem like we would do the standard slow dance, but then actually use a fun, upbeat song. Jose made sure he understood what we wanted and our guests LOVED it! Jose played so many songs that I like and love that I found myself on the dancefloor a bunch. I sure got in a workout! If you need a DJ in the Hampton Roads area, you should book the DJ Co. of VA. I wasn't sure we could afford a DJ for our wedding, but their prices were perfect for our needs!
