We had the pleasure of being recommended High Voltage by Swan Lake and little did we know just how great that recommendation truly was! While it’s taken a minute to write this review, I wanted to have the time to fully express just how amazing High Voltage was, and how I genuinely don’t think our wedding would have been what it was without the amazing efforts of the High Voltage team! From the minute that I began speaking with Anthony and Angelo, it was a similar experience as with finding Swan Lake– I knew they were our DJ’s! Not only did they have everything we could have ever wanted or needed equipment wise, but they were so motivated and excited to work our wedding! My consult at their office was completely informative and so easy! While I don’t think I was a difficult bride, I had big ideas haha. Being that Swan Lake has several rooms and different areas, and music was so important to Britt and I, I had a unique vision to have different music playing in different rooms of the venue. I was sooo prepared to be told it wasn’t possible! But they did it and it was absolutely AMAZING. We did not have a sit down dinner service, but more like an endless cocktail hour, so guests were moving around all night… Every room had a different vibe, with music to match, all throughout the evening!. You were listening to alternative/emo in the bar and the foyer.. Mellow electronic in the ballroom and non stop epic dance track after dance track on the patio dance floor ALL. NIGHT. Every room I walked in and out of was filled with people having THE best time! Every announcement was made properly, everything was ran by me throughout the night and the guys kept me consistently in the loop (thwarting several not so great requests haha). They brought in and installed the most glorious red, orange and yellow colored uplighting throughout the entire venue– which COMPLETED my fall themed decor, it looked absolutely stunning. The entire night looked and sounded so beautiful and such a HUGE thanks goes to the High Voltage team. Thank you for making my music and lighting dreams come true, guys! “**Dr. Beat was absolutely incredible!** We had **Mike and Gene** as our DJ and MC, and they made our night unforgettable. From our very first phone call, we knew we’d made the right choice — they gave off great vibes, were professional, and truly delivered. Everything was perfect, from the rustic façade of the DJ booth to the cocktail hour playlist (which sounded like something we would’ve made ourselves) to the incredible reception music. They were honest, familiar with our venue (Toast in Patchogue), and never tried to upsell us. Mike took the time to go over our preferences beforehand, and he just *got it*. They understood the assignment and gave us a night we’ll never forget. The dance floor was packed the entire evening — not a single person left on the first shuttle because no one wanted to stop dancing, not even my 91-year-old grandma who stayed until the very end! They paid close attention to every detail — from our final dance song to the special tribute song for my brother and every request in between. Throughout the night, they checked in with us to make sure we were happy, seamlessly made announcements to gather guests for photos or speeches, and kept the energy high from start to finish. If you’re debating between hiring just a DJ or a DJ and MC — **get both!** It makes such a difference. While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. The team was professional, great at communication, very kind and professional, and they helped make our day absolutely perfect! Jeff, our DJ kept the dance floor alive ALL NIGHT!! When the music had to stop at the end of the night, the dance floor was still completely full and no one wanted it to end. He did a great job announcing the events of the night, made sure that our ceremony music was perfect, and he stuck to our wedding playlist with the exception for a couple guest requests (which we were happy to allow). We were so happy and thankful to have Jeff there! Sie, our videographer also did a wonderful job! We have not yet received our video as our wedding was less than 2 weeks ago, but I already know it is going to be amazing. He was so great with communication, was prompt with his timing, and he even set up a second camera for guests to break away and give us well wishes for our marriage, which I'm so excited to watch back. He was very professional and wonderful to work with. We decided to add videography at the last minute because we thought we might regret not having it, and I am SO happy we asked Jim at Direct Entertainment if they had someone available for our day just a month before, and they did!! Jim, the coordinator at Direct Entertainment frequently checked in with us, asked us questions about ourselves, and genuinely made us feel like he cared about us and our special day. He was great to work with leading up to being assigned our designated DJ and videographer, and even after, he checked in to make sure we were happy and that all of the planning was going well. Overall, we would 1000% recommend Direct Entertainment for any wedding entertainment needs! “Booking Carinvalè for our wedding was the absolute BEST decision we could have ever made!! Our venue had recommended BVTLive if we were interested in booking a band, so we watched one of their live showcases streamed live on YouTube. My husband and I enjoyed all of the bands that played, but one really stuck out to us, Carnivalè! We booked Carnivalè without even seeing them in person, that’s how good they are! When we did attend a showcase in person a few weeks later, they exceeded our expectations and we started counting down the days until they would play at our wedding! Working with Nils to lay out all of our options was amazing! He is the sweet person you’ll ever meet and so on top of things! Leading up to the wedding we worked closely with our band leader, El, to choose songs and create a timeline for our wedding.
